- Two young "cubs" of a Wood Elf Lythari tribe return from their coming-of-age hunt to discover their village descimated by a beast of Malar. They are able to rescue the village elder, Sevefal, with the help of the Moon Elf Ranger Brenshalas who was on his way to warn the village that other Wood Elf villages had been attacked by beasts of Malar. The two lythari join the ranger to try and save the village elder. Things do not quite work out and while the ranger is drawing pursuit away from the young elf boys that are holed up in an abandoned cabin they are gifted with the final ceremony by the village elder which transforms them into Lythari. The village elder is spent by this last act of magic. Not one Orc raider survives.
